CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to join its aerospace and satellite communications team in Westminster, Colorado. The role focuses on designing, analyzing, and validating thermal control systems for next-generation satellite, spacecraft, and airborne platforms.
Responsibilities include leading thermal management system development across the full product lifecycle—from concept and requirements definition through detailed design, simulation, analysis, manufacturing, testing, and qualification. You will work as a senior member of a cross-functional engineering team, collaborating closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to develop optimized thermal solutions for space and aerospace applications.
Key duties encompass:
- Thermal design and analysis for spacecraft, satellite electronics, and airborne systems
- Simulation and modeling of thermal environments and control strategies
- Requirements definition and design review documentation
- Customer and management presentations on engineering designs
- Proposal writing and technical communication
- Manufacturing and qualification oversight
The ideal candidate brings extensive hands-on experience developing and analyzing thermal management systems for spacecraft and satellite platforms, combined with deep knowledge of space and aerospace thermal environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as the role involves presenting to customers and senior leadership.
