Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Test and Analysis team ensures emerging products are ready for harsh air, land, sea, and space environments, supporting multi-disciplinary product teams across the full lifecycle with requirements analysis, environmental testing, reliability validation, and manufacturing sustainment.
We are seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to join our rapidly growing analysis team in Boulder, CO. You will own thermal design aspects across hardware development programs, executing first-order assessments to guide preliminary design architecture, developing detailed analytical models to mature prototype designs, and generating predictions to support hardware testing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Execute hand calculations, spreadsheet, and MATLAB/Python first-order models to inform design decisions, using first principles as the basis for every decision and applying the appropriate level of analysis based on hardware state and program goals
- Develop CFD models and simulations to predict temperatures, heat transfer, and fluid characteristics to meet design schedules; generate, maintain, and correlate integrated FEMs for imaging platforms
- Perform test-model correlation testing to validate analytical predictions
- Work closely with environmental test engineers to support design, instrumentation selection, execution, and data processing of validation tests
- Prepare technical reports presenting findings to internal teams, management, and external customers
- Stay current with advancements in thermal analysis techniques, materials technology, and industry standards
You will work on new projects from conceptualization through production, developing validated and correlated models to support rapid prototyping of cutting-edge systems.
