Divergent 3D is building the next generation of industrial manufacturing and engineering solutions for automotive OEMs and aerospace/defense customers. As a Senior Test Engineer, you will be central to ensuring that Divergent components and assemblies meet the highest standards for safety, durability, and performance.
You will own the full lifecycle of test engineering: designing custom test fixtures, rigs, and tooling using Siemens NX; developing comprehensive test plans and procedures for component and system-level validation; and executing hands-on testing that directly informs engineering decisions and product quality. This is a highly technical, hands-on role that bridges design theory with robust, repeatable hardware validation.
Key responsibilities include:
**Mechanical Design & Manufacturing Support:**
- Design custom test fixtures, rigs, tooling, and mechanical assemblies using Siemens NX CAD
- Produce detailed drawings, GD&T specifications, build instructions, and manufacturing documentation
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure manufacturability and high-quality builds
- Demonstrate strong understanding of MTS hydraulic systems and hydraulic actuator integration
- Support prototype assembly and fixture integration during test setup
**Test Planning & Project Coordination:**
- Develop test plans, procedures, and schedules for component and system-level validation projects
- Use Atlassian Jira and Confluence for project tracking and technical documentation
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, materials, and quality teams to define test requirements
- Lead validation work that shapes engineering decisions
**Structural Validation & Analysis:**
- Conduct structural validation testing and analysis
- Interpret test data and translate findings into actionable engineering insights
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements
You should be a seasoned mechanical engineer with deep fundamentals, CAD expertise, and comfort working on the shop floor. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration are essential, as you'll work closely with multiple teams and external suppliers to deliver robust testing solutions.
