Shield AI, a venture-backed defense-tech company, is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead enterprise technology and systems delivery initiatives within the PMO organization. This role is responsible for managing technology programs and enterprise transformation initiatives across multiple workstreams, driving delivery from initiation through go-live and stabilization.
You will lead end-to-end project management for technology implementations, platform migrations, system integrations, and transformation initiatives. Key responsibilities include managing multiple concurrent workstreams by integrating business, engineering, infrastructure, data, and testing activities into a single executable project plan. You will build and maintain detailed schedules, milestone plans, RAID logs, dependency trackers, RACI matrices, and status reporting.
You will coordinate closely with business stakeholders, IT and engineering teams, systems integrators, and vendor partners to ensure alignment on scope, timing, deliverables, and decisions. You will facilitate planning, requirements, design, and workstream checkpoint sessions with technical leads and business process owners, and support governance routines including workstream meetings, status reviews, and escalation paths.
The role requires identifying, tracking, and escalating risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies through the project governance structure with urgency and clarity. You will ensure the project schedule is actively managed and tightly driven, including follow-up on overdue actions, management of critical path items, and resolution of cross-workstream blockers. You will coordinate technical and non-technical delivery activities across integrations, infrastructure, data migration, testing, cutover, and deployment, without acting as the technical authority for solution design.
Additional responsibilities include supporting budget tracking and variance reporting, leading preparation for SIT, UAT, cutover, and go-live readiness activities, supporting organizational change management and adoption planning, tracking vendor and systems integrator performance, and preparing clear status updates and risk reports for project leadership.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of project management experience, including 2+ years leading technology implementation or integration projects
- Demonstrated experience managing technical programs (e.g., software platform implementations, infrastructure or cloud migrations, system integrations, or enterprise application rollouts)
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while maintaining a tightly controlled integrated schedule and clear accountability across teams
- Solid understanding of technology delivery lifecycles, including planning, design, build, test, data migration, cutover, go-live, and stabilization
- Ability to understand technical concepts, integration dependencies, environment readiness, data migration risks, and testing implications sufficiently to coordinate teams and drive delivery, without being the primary technical resource
- Strong command of project management fundamentals including scope management, schedule management, RAID management, dependency tracking, status reporting, and governance
- Experience working with stakeholders across business, IT, and vendor organizations
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills, with the ability to drive action and elevate issues clearly and promptly
- CAPM, PMP, or equivalent certification is a plus
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience within a PMO or technology delivery team supporting cross-functional programs
- Experience managing technical workstreams across domains such as cloud infrastructure, data & analytics, DevOps/engineering, cybersecurity, or digital/customer platforms
- Background in technology transformation, including migration from legacy platforms and coordination of business process change
- Exposure to enterprise governance practices, such as steering committee reporting and structured escalation management
- Familiarity with organizational change management frameworks and enterprise adoption planning
- Prior experience as a business analyst, technical lead, or systems power user is helpful, particularly where that experience improves communication with technical and business teams
