Coinbase is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead high-priority, multi-quarter programs within the Consumer & Business organization, which owns the company's flagship retail experiences across trading, investing, and related financial products. Recent launches led by TPMs on this team include Equities, Prediction Markets, Derivatives, and Credit Card.
In this role, you will own end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional programs from problem definition through launch and post-launch follow-up. You will ensure scope, milestones, dependencies, and success metrics are clearly defined and tracked throughout execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving the operating cadence for your programs through kickoffs, status reviews, dashboards, and risk tracking to keep teams aligned and accountable across Product, Engineering, Design, Data, and business partners.
- Proactively identifying risks and cross-team dependencies, driving mitigations, and escalating crisply when leadership decisions are needed.
- Partnering with Engineering leads to evaluate technical trade-offs around reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability, ensuring architecture decisions support program goals.
- Translating product and business goals into executable program plans and defining program-level KPIs that guide prioritization and decision-making.
- Influencing outcomes without direct authority across Product, Engineering, and business teams.
Coinbase is a remote-first, but not remote-only company. Expect to get together quarterly for intense in-person working sessions called "surges."
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Engineering leader, or similar role driving large technical programs in a high-growth consumer technology company.
- Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives through significant ambiguity, tight timelines, and regulatory constraints, with demonstrated ability to drive programs independently from early framing through launch.
- Technical fluency in modern distributed systems sufficient to engage with Staff+ engineers on architecture, design trade-offs, and sequencing decisions.
- Experience defining program-level KPIs and using dashboards and data to guide prioritization, with a track record of influencing outcomes without direct authority across Product, Engineering, and business teams.
- Familiarity with trading, brokerage, payments, or other high-throughput fintech products, or with crypto, web3, or DeFi ecosystems.
- Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
