Skyryse is developing SkyOS, an advanced avionics system that simplifies aircraft management during standard operations, adverse weather, and emergencies. As a Senior Systems Test Engineer, you will lead the development and execution of test equipment and procedures to verify and validate complex aerospace systems and components against product requirements.
You will focus heavily on electromechanical actuation system testing, designing test setups that accurately simulate real-world conditions to validate performance and reliability. Working in a high-tempo environment, you'll execute systems test activities in the Systems Integration Lab (SIL), maintaining configuration control and traceability across all test assets.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining test procedures and documentation for avionics systems integration, collaborating with design engineers on harness and wiring integration for both lab and aircraft applications, preparing Bills of Materials for test articles and lab hardware, and coordinating supplier activities for environmental and EMI/EMC testing. You will work cross-functionally with GNC, Perception, Safety, Systems, Flight Test, and Software teams to ensure successful integration of complex avionics systems.
Additionally, you will identify and document test anomalies, perform root cause analysis, support corrective actions to resolve integration issues, and contribute to process improvements in test methodologies and workflows.
This is a full-time, onsite role based in El Segundo, CA. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering (or equivalent experience) and 7+ years of technical avionics experience. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, broad experience with avionics/electromechanical system specification and certification, leadership experience in technical teams, and familiarity with aerospace safety-critical automation certification.
