Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Maneuver Dominance team at the Costa Mesa headquarters. This role focuses on leading critical capability development for an advanced airborne platform, specifically the Thunder Mission System. You will apply pragmatic systems engineering thinking to shape air vehicle development and novel approaches to operations and sustainment. Key responsibilities include executing an Agile Systems Engineering approach aligned with the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) for Thunder Mission System and Payloads development. You will support design teams in evolving Technical Performance Measures (TPMs), contribute to design reviews (SDR, PDR, CDR, TRR, SRB), and own functional decomposition, system breakdown structures, and architecture diagrams. You will develop critical systems engineering artifacts including System Description Documents (SDDs) and Interface Control Documents (ICDs). Additional duties encompass championing the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), designing Hardware In Lab (HIL) and Hardware In The Loop (HITL) integration environments, creating issue board workflows, coordinating configuration and change management, supporting systems safety and airworthiness efforts, and participating in build, ground, and flight testing with Physical Configuration Audits (PCA). Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent). You must have 8+ years of systems engineering experience in defense or aerospace, including safety-critical hardware and software systems for crewed aircraft, rotorcraft, eVTOL, UAS, or weapon systems. Demonstrable proficiency in systems engineering, requirements solicitation, design collaboration, and test/evaluation processes is essential. Familiarity with software tools (Teamcenter, JIRA, JAMA, Cameo, Ansys) and experience with developmental autonomous aircraft (Group 5 UAS or larger) are required. Knowledge of standards such as ARP-4754, ARP-4761, DO-178C, DO-254, JSSSEH, MIL-STD 882E, and others is desirable. You must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance in the US, UK, or Australia.
