Graphcore is building the future of AI compute as part of the SoftBank Group. This Senior Systems Engineer role focuses on performance and reliability validation of large-scale AI infrastructure.
You will work on a team responsible for determining whether entire racks and datacentre-scale systems are production-ready. The role combines systems engineering, measurement design, and data analysis—not purely infrastructure or analytics alone.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and executing measurements on distributed Linux clusters ranging from single-rack to datacentre scale
- Analyzing performance and reliability results to assess system readiness
- Improving the infrastructure and tools that execute measurements at scale
- Running measurements on compute, network, and ML workloads
- Analyzing variability and repeatability of results
- Using and extending tools like pytest for measurement execution
The team operates across infrastructure, workloads, and analysis depending on the problem. While you may specialize in one area, the role requires flexibility and cross-boundary collaboration to ensure complete coverage.
You should be comfortable reasoning about performance and reliability in distributed systems, prefer evidence-based conclusions over assumptions, and bring significant practical experience with sound engineering judgment. Depth in one technical area is valued, but the ability to work across boundaries is equally important.
