Salary: USD 175,000 - 195,000 / annual
Voyager Technologies is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to help shape the future of lunar technologies and missions. You will work within the Advanced Programs division, leading the company's earliest-stage work from mission concept definition and long-term technology roadmapping to hands-on development of breakthrough technologies powering next-generation lunar landers, surface systems, and spacecraft.
Key responsibilities include developing and reviewing concepts and designs for lunar landers, rovers, surface power systems, and spacecraft. You will support technical content creation for business proposals, R&D initiatives, and mission opportunities. A core focus is developing system-level technical vision for new products, connecting customer needs with feasible, high-performing solutions across hardware and software domains.
You will develop and perform trade studies to support technical, business, and programmatic decision-making. This includes performing system-level analysis and first-order sizing of space systems, generating high-level MELs and PELs, and developing mission concept of operations, requirements compliance and derivation, launch vehicle requirements, fault management, interface control, V&V plans, and technical risk mitigation plans.
Additional responsibilities span programmatic topics such as schedules, resourcing, and budget estimations. You will communicate across engineering disciplines, partners, customers, and vendors to resolve technical risks and challenges. Occasional travel for customer and partner technical interchange meetings is expected. You will translate abstract customer requirements into actionable product goals and system architectures for proposals and stakeholder presentations, and participate in cross-functional team meetings ensuring engineering solutions align with mission, business needs, and company technology roadmap.
Required qualifications include a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline plus 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience). Demonstrated experience in space system development, systems engineering, structural/thermal design and analysis, avionics, power systems, propulsion, orbital mechanics, electrical systems, mechanical & fluid systems, software & controls, and/or manufacturing is essential. You must have experience developing technical content for proposals and external customer presentations, authoring and decomposing mission and system-level requirements, and a strong understanding of launch, space, and lunar environments.
Desired qualifications include understanding of full mission solutions, experience with mission architecture development and reliability analysis, knowledge of NASA/industry engineering standards, demonstrated experience in agile environments using tools like Confluence and Jira, and eligibility to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.
