Salary: USD 170,000 - 185,000 / annual
Mendaera is developing a platform combining real-time imaging, robotics, and artificial intelligence to enable healthcare providers to deliver more precise and consistent interventions. The company aims to eliminate barriers in patient care, accelerate recovery, and reduce costs.
You will support the commercialization of the Focalist system as a Senior Systems Engineer, reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager. Your role bridges product management and engineering teams to define solutions addressing unmet healthcare needs and translate them into engineering specifications and key performance indicators.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams to design and develop new features for the Focalist System
- Understand the system from both technical and user perspectives, driving definition and development accordingly
- Translate clinical and business requirements into design input requirements and technical specifications in collaboration with product
- Generate engineering studies and risk assessments to bound technical problems and communicate trade-offs between solutions
- Develop test methods to characterize and verify system design against performance requirements
- Integrate and debug prototypes; maintain configuration and documentation records of verification candidates
- Maintain risk file documents, including FMEA and system hazard analysis
- Prioritize engineering feature sets and drive system-level execution
- Track engineering requirements and KPIs across the development lifecycle

Requirements:
- Medical-device product development experience including verification and validation
- Advanced technical degree and ≥5 years industry experience preferred
- Significant demonstrated experience collaborating with technical partners
