CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer II to join its Skylark product line team, which develops cutting-edge active phased array antennas (AESA) for terrestrial and airborne applications. The role focuses on rapid design, build, and test of communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. In this position, you will serve as a technical point of contact for communication programs and lead cross-functional engineering efforts. Key responsibilities include developing space architecture concepts, sub-system and payload design, requirements development and decomposition, high-level software and hardware system architecture design, concept of operations (CONOPS) development, and risk assessment. You will coordinate activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams, escalate program-level issues, and drive complex programs to successful completion. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in systems engineering with demonstrated experience in space technology. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment with hands-on, interactive, and autonomous work. Current programs span high-power, large-scale ground terminals for missile defense to commercial airline and helicopter connectivity solutions.
