Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Maneuver Dominance team in London, working on Thunder—an autonomous attack rotorcraft designed to operate alongside crewed combat aviation. The London team develops the Mission System and Autonomy that powers advanced aircraft platforms.
In this role, you will own systems engineering for Thunder's mission system and payload integration, ensuring that thousands of parallel subsystem developments integrate seamlessly onto a moving air vehicle. You'll execute pragmatic, Agile systems engineering aligned with the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), operating at velocity to deliver new designs within months.
Key responsibilities include:
- Execute right-sized Agile Systems Engineering for Thunder Mission System and Payloads development
- Support design teams in evolving Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) throughout design cycles
- Contribute to design reviews (SDR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and safety review boards, representing systems engineering discipline
- Own and maintain functional decomposition, system/product breakdown structures, and architecture diagrams
- Develop systems engineering artifacts: System Description Documents (SDDs) and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Champion Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP) for mission system and payload maturation
- Design Hardware-In-Lab (HIL) and Hardware-In-The-Loop (HITL) integration environments
- Manage issue workflows, ticket triage, and configuration/change management processes
- Support systems safety, airworthiness, and ground/flight test activities including Physical Configuration Audits (PCA)
Required: BEng/BSc/MEng in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Robotics, or Mechatronics (or equivalent). 8+ years of systems engineering in Defence or Aerospace, with focus on safety-critical hardware/software in crewed aircraft, rotorcraft, EVTOL, UAS, or weapon systems. Demonstrated proficiency in requirements solicitation, design collaboration, artifact development, test/evaluation processes, and autonomous aircraft (Group 5 UAS or larger). Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (UKSV).
Preferred: Experience with open mission system architectures (PYRAMID, OMS/UCI, STANAG 4586), multi-platform mission systems integration, SysML v2, requirements management tools (Jama), and UK export control/security knowledge.
