Echodyne is seeking a Senior Systems Architect to lead radar system development for the company's compact solid-state beam-steering radar technology. The role sits at the intersection of radar principles, antenna theory, RF electronics, embedded computing, and power distribution, working on products deployed across autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft systems, border security, critical infrastructure, and smart cities. Key responsibilities include translating customer use cases into measurable system requirements and performance budgets; defining and maintaining radar system architecture across hardware, firmware, algorithms, and product interfaces; leading system decomposition and subsystem requirement definition; managing tradeoffs among competing requirements using system budgets; driving system-level performance closure through modeling, simulation, and field data interpretation; enabling integration readiness through cross-functional collaboration; establishing verification philosophy and strategy; and serving as a principal technical voice in roadmap and design reviews. Required qualifications: BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or similar discipline; 7+ years developing complex embedded/electronic systems from concept through verification and production readiness; experience leading systems engineering for products spanning RF/mixed-signal electronics, embedded firmware/OS, and application software; strong analytical skills for system modeling, trade studies, and data-driven debugging; proficiency with Python/MATLAB and systems debugging at hardware/software boundaries. Desired experience includes familiarity with radar systems, RF design, or sensing technologies; commercial radar product delivery; radar domain knowledge sufficient to lead architecture decisions (FMCW and/or pulse Doppler radar preferred); and exposure to radar algorithms including clutter mitigation, interference suppression, calibration, and tracking/state estimation techniques like Kalman filtering.
