Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior System Architect to own the electrical architecture for space-bound imaging payloads. This is a hands-on, system-level role where you will define the complete electronics architecture—power, sensor, and interface electronics—and drive designs from concept through flight qualification in rapid 12-month cycles.
You will own critical architectural tradeoffs between COTS and radiation-hardened components, performance, schedule, and cost. Your responsibilities span schematic design, PCB layout, board bring-up, and qualification testing (TVAC, vibration, EMI/EMC) for complex analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics serving electro-optical and infrared sensor systems. You will design for the space environment—radiation, thermal extremes, vacuum, vibration, and launch loads—and prove compliance through rigorous analysis and testing.
This role requires hands-on lab work: prototype quickly, characterize on the bench, iterate on real hardware, and converge on flight-ready designs without unnecessary cycles. You will bake in design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA) from the first schematic to enable clean scaling toward production. You will lead board bring-up, integration, and troubleshooting during environmental and integration testing, using standard bench equipment.
You will partner closely with firmware, optics, mechanical, systems, and program teams to drive integration and close out anomalies rapidly. You will mentor less experienced electrical engineers, serve as a design-review anchor, and document architectures, designs, analyses, and test results to flight-readiness standards.
Required: 8+ years of electrical engineering experience spanning system-level architecture, electronics design, and hands-on test, with a track record of owning designs end-to-end. You must hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with demonstrated ownership of electronics architecture for complex electromechanical or sensor systems. Strong proficiency in analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics design, schematic capture, and PCB layout is essential.
