Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior System Architect to own the electrical architecture for space-bound imaging payloads. This is a hands-on, system-level role where you will define electrical architecture, make critical build-versus-buy and COTS-versus-rad-hard tradeoffs, and drive designs from concept through flight qualification in rapid 12-month cycles. You will own the complete electronics architecture for imaging payloads, partitioning systems and defining power, sensor, data, and interface electronics. You'll lead the design, layout, bring-up, and qualification of PCBAs spanning analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics for electro-optical and infrared sensor systems. Your responsibilities include translating sensor and system performance models into electrical requirements, driving rapid design-build-test cycles, and designing for the space environment (radiation, thermal extremes, vacuum, vibration, launch loads). Key responsibilities include owning analysis and testing (TVAC, vibration, EMI/EMC), baking in design for manufacturability and assembly from the first schematic, leading board bring-up and integration in the lab and during environmental testing, and partnering closely with firmware, optics, mechanical, systems, and program teams. You will mentor other electrical engineers and serve as a technical anchor for design reviews and decision-making on the electronics scope. Required: 8+ years of electrical engineering experience spanning system-level architecture, electronics design, and hands-on test with end-to-end ownership. You need a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, demonstrated ownership of electronics architecture for complex electromechanical or sensor systems, and strong proficiency in analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics design with deep schematic capture and PCB layout skills. Experience with space systems, radiation-hardened components, and rapid hardware development cycles is essential.
