Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to support the Intelligence Systems team. This role sits within the Quality Engineering organization and partners across product development, production, and field operations. You will define, develop, and execute processes that deliver high-quality, reliable hardware for Intelligence Systems. The team specializes in specific manufacturing commodities: castings and weldings, precision machined parts, or avionics and electronics (PCBA/circuit cards, sensors, communication modules, line replaceable units). You will collaborate with design teams and suppliers to meet quality requirements from the outset, evaluate manufacturing technologies, assess supplier capabilities, and drive supplier quality management across the supply chain. Key responsibilities include: - Partner with design teams during product development to provide design-for-manufacturability feedback and generate product data (drawings, BOMs, part requirements) that enable supplier success. - Bring deep expertise in your commodity's manufacturing processes and inspection/measurement methods to support design ideation and manage technical risks, prototyping, and scaling for volume production. - Drive supplier quality development throughout product development stages via design reviews, process development, testing, and qualification activities. - Collaborate with development engineering, product quality, sourcing, category management, and program management to ensure predictable supply and manage exceptions, containments, and deviations. - Analyze key and critical characteristics, develop measurement systems, and lead supplier qualification activities (PPAP, FAIR, audits, inspection development). - Partner with Global Strategic Sourcing to drive supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery, and strategic goals. - Own elimination of supplier risk through audits, readiness reviews, training, and documentation to ensure compliance. - Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities; own containments for purchased goods. - Review supplier effectiveness, share lessons learned, and drive Supplier Corrective Action and Response (SCAR) processes. - Audit supplier Quality Management Systems for compliance with Anduril's flow-down requirements from customers. - Lead supplier onsite audits and reviews for contract deliverables. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or similar technical field. - Demonstrated subject matter expertise in at least one commodity area (castings/weldings, precision machined parts, or avionics/electronics) within maritime, aerospace, defense, or space applications. - Experience scaling supplier capabilities from prototype/proof-of-concept to low-rate and high-rate production. Source inspection experience at aerospace/defense suppliers is a plus; experience flowing down Source Control requirements to suppliers is valued. - Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements. AS9100 Lead/Internal Auditor Certification or equivalent is a plus. - Experience performing First Article Inspection to AS9102 Industry Standard and ensuring suppliers have control plans and inspection processes capable of meeting product requirements. - Experience driving supplier performance and evaluation, including Statement of Work (SOW), quality clauses, intellectual property (IP), and government regulations (ITAR, etc.). - Working knowledge of product development methodologies: Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) elements such as Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), quality improvement techniques, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). - Strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion. - Analytical skills for data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical analysis tools (MatLab, JMP, MiniTab, etc.). - Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance. - Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time to suppliers, sourcing partners, and manufacturing locations. Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in a technical field. - Experience creating material and process specifications for your commodity area. - Working knowledge of non-destructive inspection techniques (penetrant, x-ray, pressure proof testing) throughout process development lifecycle. - Experience qualifying metal joining methods (welding, brazing) for critical structures and aerospace assemblies. - Experience managing special processes (heat treatment, polishing, anodize, coating, paint). - Experience in casting process qualification and development of automated inspection operations. - Process FMEA experience and developing source inspection plans and qualifying inspection process capabilities. - Experience with government contracts and MIL standard requirements. - Experience with Teamcenter, NX, Oracle/Netsuite, Jira, and Foundry.
