Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology, AI, autonomy, and computer vision. As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, you will define, develop, and execute processes that deliver high-quality and reliable hardware assemblies across Anduril's product portfolio. You will partner with design teams and suppliers to meet quality requirements from the outset, focusing on clarity, action, and world-class results across the supply chain. This role requires hands-on collaboration with engineering, manufacturing expertise, and accountability for supplier quality outcomes. Key responsibilities include: - Partner with design teams to support product development, provide design-for-manufacturability feedback, and generate product data (drawings, BOMs, part requirements) for supplier success. - Leverage expertise across manufacturing disciplines—machining, fabrication, electromechanical assembly, special processes, and inspection/measurement—to support design and manage technical risks, prototyping, and production scaling. - Drive supplier quality development throughout product development stages via design reviews, supplier process development, testing, and component/sub-assembly qualification. - Collaborate with development engineering, product quality, sourcing, category management, and program management to deliver predictable supply and manage supplier technical performance exceptions. - Analyze key and critical characteristics, develop measurement systems, and lead supplier qualification activities (PPAP, FAIR, audits, inspection development). - Partner with Global Strategic Sourcing to drive overall supplier performance for cost, quality, delivery, and strategic goal fulfillment. - Own elimination of supplier risk to improve quality and reliability across the product lifecycle through audits, readiness reviews, training, and documentation. - Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities; own containments for purchased goods. - Review supplier effectiveness and drive the Supplier Corrective Action and Response (SCAR) process; share lessons learned across product teams. - Audit supplier Quality Management Systems for compliance with Anduril's flow-down requirements from customers. - Prepare, support, and lead supplier onsite audits and reviews for contract deliverables. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or similar technical field. - Experience in manufacturing environments across one or more hardware commodity areas (machined parts, fabrications, electromechanical assemblies, castings/forgings, PCBAs, cable/harness). - Experience scaling supplier capabilities and quality from prototype/proof-of-concept to low-rate and high-rate production. Source inspection experience at aerospace and defense suppliers is a plus; experience flowing down source control requirements to suppliers required. - Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements. AS9100 Lead/Internal Auditor Certification or equivalent is a plus. - Experience performing First Article Inspection to AS9102 industry standard and ensuring suppliers have control plans and inspection processes capable of meeting product requirements. - Experience driving supplier performance and evaluation; familiarity with Statement of Work (SOW), quality clauses, intellectual property (IP), and government regulations such as ITAR. - Working knowledge of product development methodologies: Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) elements including Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), quality improvement techniques, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). - Strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion. - Analytical skills and experience with data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical analysis tools (MATLAB, JMP, Minitab, etc.). - Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance. - Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time to suppliers, sourcing partners, and manufacturing locations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Master's degree in a technical field. - Experience creating material and process specifications across multiple hardware commodity areas. - Working knowledge of proper application of non-destructive inspection techniques throughout process development lifecycle. - Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) experience and developing source inspection plans and qualifying inspection process capabilities. - Experience with government contracts and MIL standard requirements. - Experience with Teamcenter, NX, Oracle/NetSuite, Jira, and Foundry.
