Salary: USD 144,000 - 180,000 / annual

Archer Technologies is an aerospace company developing all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft designed to carry four passengers with minimal noise. As a Senior Structural Analyst, you will lead structural analysis and design efforts for this innovative aircraft platform. Your responsibilities include performing trade studies and requirements derivation to establish vehicle configuration; conducting hand calculations and finite element method (FEM) analysis of primary and secondary aerospace structures; and developing company standards for model creation, strength checks, and analysis report generation. You will compile comprehensive stress analysis documentation to support engineering drawing releases and FAA airworthiness approvals. A key aspect of this role is mentoring junior structural analysts and designers in stress, stability, and fracture analysis best practices, while providing technical guidance on design trade-offs between risk, cost, and performance. You will perform advanced structural analysis using FEM for static, dynamic, fatigue, and damage tolerance scenarios to support design, fabrication, testing, and structural integrity activities. Additionally, you will support test execution, analyze results to validate designs against requirements, and author detailed structural substantiation reports required for FAA certification. You bring 5+ years of experience in aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle, or powertrain structures, with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's preferred). You have proven expertise in stress, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis on metallic and composite structures, proficiency in classical hand calculations and FEM, and hands-on experience with analysis tools such as Nastran, Optistruct, Ansys, Abaqus, or LS-Dyna. You understand FEM modeling techniques including boundary conditions, bolted connections, and contact modeling, and possess knowledge of fatigue/fracture mechanics (AFGRO/NASGRO, spectra development, NDE methods). Bonus qualifications include familiarity with FAA Part 23/27 certification requirements, development and qualification testing experience, classical aerospace sizing methods (Bruhn, Niu, Roark), and scripting proficiency in Matlab or Python.
