EliseAI is a Series E-funded AI company (raised $250M led by Andreessen Horowitz) focused on improving housing and healthcare through agentic AI integrated into existing workflows. The company simplifies renter experiences (apartment tours, lease signing, maintenance requests) and healthcare workflows (appointment scheduling, intake forms, patient communication).
As Senior Strategy Manager, Government Affairs, you will build EliseAI's government affairs and public policy function from the ground up, reporting to the Director of Business Development & Partnerships. This is a 0→1 role with no existing playbook—you will define the function, establish relationships with key stakeholders, and translate policy developments into strategic advantage.
Key responsibilities include: standing up government affairs strategy; building relationships with housing authorities, government agencies, and regulators; monitoring and synthesizing legislative and regulatory developments across AI regulation, fair housing, data privacy, tenant screening, and affordable housing programs; shaping public policy through representation with policymakers and industry coalitions; advising product, legal, and leadership on regulatory risk and opportunity; representing EliseAI in industry associations; partnering with go-to-market teams to unlock government and affordable-housing opportunities; and managing outside counsel and consultants as the function scales.
You will operate at the intersection of housing, technology, and public policy—three domains under intense regulatory attention. The role requires 7+ years in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory strategy at a high-growth tech startup or top-tier management consultancy. Strong command of the legislative landscape at the intersection of housing and technology is essential, with familiarity in fair housing, AI and data-privacy regulation, or affordable housing programs (LIHTC, Section 8/PBRA) a strong plus. You must have established relationships with government stakeholders or a demonstrated ability to build them quickly, a track record of building from 0→1, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical judgment, and comfort with travel to Washington DC and state capitals. The role requires 4-5 days per week in-office at NYC headquarters.
