FlixTrain is seeking a Senior Strategic Project Manager for Rolling Stock & Maintenance to drive strategic initiatives across the train fleet. You will lead and manage strategically important projects spanning fleet development, financing initiatives, and vehicle procurement. Working closely with Rolling Stock, Maintenance, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams, you will oversee resource planning, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and steering strategic projects in rolling stock and maintenance, including prioritization, resource planning, and stakeholder management across multiple departments
- Preparing refurbishment projects holistically for executive decision-making, considering product attractiveness, commercial implications, and enterprise-wide benefits
- Orchestrating financing projects from a business perspective, coordinating internal teams and external capital providers
- Evaluating market offerings for new train fleets from technical and economic perspectives, and conducting negotiations through to procurement
- Sourcing and procuring additional locomotives to ensure capacity and optimize fleet performance
- Continuously monitoring and analyzing current fleet performance, deriving strategic recommendations
- Preparing C-level meetings with clear decision templates and strategic analyses
Requirements:
- Completed degree (Master's, Diplom) in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent qualification
- Multiple years of professional experience in management consulting or strategic project management
- Experience in evaluating and procuring vehicles or technical assets, from market analysis through contract closure
- Strong analytical capabilities to prepare complex technical and financial matters in an understandable manner
- Confident communication at C-level with strong presentation skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset and high initiative in dynamic environments
- Fluent German and English (minimum C1 level, written and spoken)
