Adyen is a global financial technology platform providing payments, data, and financial products to enterprise customers including Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The Storage Team, part of Platform Engineering in Amsterdam, is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining the organization's data storage infrastructure at scale.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end management of storage systems, including strategic design for scalability, hands-on implementation and integration, continuous performance monitoring, capacity planning, security, and troubleshooting. You will design and deploy storage infrastructure (SAN, Object Storage) aligned with organizational needs, monitor and maintain systems to guarantee optimal performance and availability, and perform capacity planning and forecasting for future storage requirements.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies for backup, replication, and disaster recovery; troubleshooting and resolving storage system issues; maintaining documentation of configurations, procedures, and standards; collaborating with other Platform Engineering teams on system upgrades, migrations, and integrations; and automating storage provisioning and management using scripting or infrastructure-as-code tools.
You bring 5+ years of experience in Linux systems administration with a focus on storage (e.g., Ceph), proven experience with enterprise storage systems (Purestorage, NetApp, EMC, Dell, IBM, Hitachi), and a strong understanding of RAID, LVM, NFS, iSCSI, multipathing, and file systems (ext4, XFS, ZFS). You have hands-on experience with enterprise storage systems and clustering technologies, proficiency in shell scripting, and knowledge of Python, Puppet, or Ansible. Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM), cloud storage solutions (AWS S3, EBS), and monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Zabbix) is expected.
