Moveworks, now part of ServiceNow, is building the agentic AI layer that sits between every employee and the systems they rely on. The Moveworks Business Unit is one of ServiceNow's most strategically important investments, and its scope is expanding rapidly. We are seeking a Director-level Technical Program Manager (Individual Contributor) to lead critical programs end-to-end, starting with the ServiceNow integration and expanding into a broader portfolio as the business unit scales.
This is a senior, highly technical individual contributor role for someone with deep experience running infrastructure, platform modernization, or large-scale distributed systems programs. You will manage programs directly and end-to-end, with influence derived from technical depth, sharp judgment, and the ability to align engineering leaders, executives, and partner organizations around a single execution plan. As the Moveworks BU scope expands, so will yours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the Moveworks Infrastructure portfolio of strategic and technical initiatives, driving roadmap and execution plans for infrastructure initiatives, and eventually overseeing operational processes like capacity planning and budgeting.
- Focus on initiatives expanding the Moveworks Infrastructure footprint across a tri-cloud + on-premises + SPC strategy, developing tools and processes for managing the infrastructure stack across diverse environments.
- Run the program as connective tissue across engineering, product, design, security, GTM, finance, and field organizations, driving outcomes through clarity, structured decision-making, and relentless follow-through.
- Identify and resolve technical misalignment early, spotting risks across teams, architectures, and roadmaps before they become delivery risks. Lead architecture reviews, surface cross-system risks (latency budgets, blast radius, multi-tenancy, AI safety, evals), and broker tradeoffs between engineering teams.
- Build the operating system for the program: status, risk, scope, and decision logs that engineering directors and VPs actually read; quarterly planning rhythms that reflect reality; executive narratives that are honest about where things stand.
- Serve as a senior partner to engineering leadership, pairing directly with Distinguished Engineers, VPs of Engineering, and product leaders. Represent the program to the CTO, CPO, and executive staff.
- Define TPM excellence as the organization grows. Serve as the model for how to operate, set the standard for senior technical program management at Moveworks, mentor TPMs across the organization without being their manager, and codify patterns that scale.
Success in the first year means: Q1 — grasp the Moveworks replatform roadmap and drive execution for the first release, earning trust from engineering leaders; Q2 — scale to drive multiple parallel releases while proactively surfacing key risks and mitigation paths; Q3-Q4 — deliver 1-2 releases on roadmap with major milestones landing on time and at quality.
This role offers the scale, technical complexity, and executive visibility of a large technology company combined with the pace, ambiguity, and scope expansion of a fast-growing AI business unit. Unlike typical senior TPM roles with fixed scope focused on meetings and status reporting, this is a seat at the center of the Moveworks BU with expanding scope as the business unit scales. You will be measured by the technical and business outcomes you drive.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- 12+ years of technical program management experience, with most time spent on infrastructure, platform, cloud, reliability, developer productivity, or modernization programs. Must have operated at staff, principal, or director IC scope on programs where the hard part was understanding technical dependencies, sequencing migrations, managing reliability risk, and helping engineering leaders make durable tradeoffs.
- Deep technical fluency across infrastructure modernization domains: distributed systems, cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, multi-region and multi-cloud architectures, hyperscaler platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), identity, data platforms, observability, reliability, and migration strategy. Must have enough technical depth to pressure-test plans, spot cross-system risk, and earn credibility with senior engineers.
- Track record of leading cross-org programs involving 100+ engineers, multiple VPs, and competing roadmaps—ideally including at least one large-scale integration, migration, or platform unification.
- Excellent written communication. Ability to compress a 200-engineer program into a one-page executive narrative without losing truth. Ability to write decision documents that hold up under scrutiny.
- Strong technical judgment under ambiguity. Know when to dig in, when to delegate to engineering leads, and when to escalate. Comfortable saying "this plan won't work" in a room full of senior leaders.
Strongly Preferred:
- Prior IC senior TPM experience at a hyperscaler, large SaaS platform, or AI-first company.
- Comfort operating across SaaS, on-premises regulated, and government cloud (FedRAMP, IL5) deployment models.
- Experience leading post-acquisition technical integration programs at scale.
- Background in agentic AI, conversational AI, or AI assistant platforms—understanding why agent runtimes, tool calling, RAG, and evals are not the same problem.
