You'll join the Tooling team, building and enhancing internal developer tools and systems that empower engineers, sales, and support teams. This is a backend-focused role designing new tools and improving existing ones to increase developer productivity and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Migrating common developer actions from local machines to cloud infrastructure
- Improving license management systems
- Decomposing monolithic support tools into smaller, maintainable services
- Enhancing feature flags infrastructure
- Building AI-powered internal tools
- Developing tools for security and privacy improvements
- Contributing to open-source systems used by Verkada
You'll need a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field. Required skills: Python and/or Go, experience with major cloud platforms (preferably AWS), strong written and verbal communication. Preferred: Terraform, Kubernetes, and service mesh (Istio) experience. You should be comfortable working at the frontier of infrastructure and software development, with enthusiasm for learning new infrastructure products and strategies.
