As a Senior Software Engineer on the Business Systems Engineering team, you will design and implement technical solutions that bridge AWS, Salesforce, and NetSuite to serve Go-to-Market teams. You'll own projects from ideation through release, focusing on identifying bottlenecks and friction points in sales, order, finance, and support workflows. The team emphasizes automation over manual operation, data-driven metrics over anecdotes, and proactive problem-solving.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing distributed systems solutions across AWS, Salesforce, and NetSuite
- Improving systems observability and investing in data reliability and correctness
- Developing customer empathy to propose meaningful system improvements
- Leading projects end-to-end from conception to production
- Mentoring junior engineers
You bring 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on distributed systems at scale. You have shipped customer-facing products or internal tools, thrive in fast-paced startup environments, and have deep expertise in AWS infrastructure (Kubernetes, Fargate, Lambda, Airflow, Athena, DynamoDB, VPC, EC2). Experience with data infrastructure and analytics is a plus. This is an in-office role at Verkada's San Mateo headquarters, reflecting the company's commitment to a thriving office culture.
