Webflow is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical vision and architecture for the Convert product suite—a collection of experimentation, personalization, analytics, and conversion optimization tools for marketing teams. In this role, you will set long-term technical direction for backend systems handling high-throughput distributed data pipelines. You'll architect and evolve APIs that ingest, process, and serve large volumes of visitor and event data with low latency, high availability, and strong consistency. Key responsibilities include leading foundational platform investments and data infrastructure that unlock new product capabilities; partnering with data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to productionize statistical and AI/ML capabilities into reliable, real-time infrastructure; and owning complex, multi-team, multi-quarter technical initiatives from problem framing through implementation, launch, and operational ownership. You will influence the engineering roadmap across the Convert pillar and partner teams, identifying high-leverage investments and aligning teams behind them. You'll raise the engineering bar organization-wide through architecture review, technical standards, observability practices, and systems that support long-term quality. Mentoring and developing staff and senior engineers is a core part of the role, multiplying impact through people and culture. You'll stay current with industry trends in distributed systems, experimentation platforms, real-time data, and AI/ML infrastructure, proactively advancing Webflow's backend platform. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this is a full-time, permanent, exempt position. The role is remote-first, open to candidates in the United States and Canada (BC & ON). Compensation is geographically tiered: US Zone A $232k–$290k, Zone B $217.6k–$272k, Zone C $204.8k–$256k (USD); Canada $253k–$316k (CAD). Eligible for company-wide bonus program with payouts based on company performance.
