Ping Identity is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join the Data Platform team, which is building next-generation enterprise AI governance capabilities. The role focuses on enabling secure, scalable, and responsible adoption of AI agents across enterprises, addressing security, compliance, identity, risk management, and responsible AI. You will design, develop, and maintain AI agent governance capabilities across major platforms including Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, Microsoft Copilot, and Azure AI Foundry. Key responsibilities include rapidly prototyping and iterating on AI agent capabilities, leveraging AI coding assistants and agentic development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality and observability. You'll drive the evolution of core Identity Governance capabilities—including certifications, lifecycle management, workflows, and Separation of Duties—by enhancing existing functionality, improving performance and scalability, and delivering incremental features. You will partner closely with Support and customer-facing teams to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues, monitor AI agent performance and security across multiple platforms, and collaborate with platform and security teams to implement secure AI solutions using authentication, authorization, and least-privilege principles. Additional responsibilities include contributing to observability through logging, metrics, monitoring, and compliance implementation; evaluating emerging AI agent platforms and interoperability standards such as MCP; and documenting architecture, governance processes, and engineering best practices. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, 8+ years of Java application development, strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented design, experience building scalable distributed applications, and strong Gradle expertise. You should have deep knowledge of performance profiling, JVM tuning, memory management, concurrent programming, multithreading, and debugging techniques. Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills are essential. Bonus qualifications include exposure to Identity Governance (IGA) concepts.
