EarnIn is seeking an exceptional Senior Staff Software Engineer to architect and evolve the Identity & Trust platform that underpins secure customer access, trustworthy onboarding, and fraud prevention across the company's consumer and enterprise ecosystem. This role spans identity and authentication (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML), authorization (RBAC/ABAC), identity verification (KYC), privacy and data protection (PII tokenization, data vaulting), secure document processing, user/entity resolution, and fraud prevention.
As a Staff-level engineer, you will operate at both deep technical and organizational scale. You'll define multi-year platform strategy and architecture, lead complex initiatives across multiple services and teams, and establish reusable patterns and primitives that enable product teams to safely consume Identity & Trust capabilities. Key responsibilities include designing highly available distributed systems using microservices, event-driven architectures, Kubernetes, Kafka, DynamoDB, and MySQL; setting standards for reliability, observability, SLOs, and incident response; and driving the responsible adoption of AI and agentic workflows to amplify engineering productivity with appropriate guardrails.
You'll also mentor Staff and Senior engineers, influence technical direction across the organization, and partner closely with Product, Security, Risk, Data Science, Compliance, and executive stakeholders to translate customer, business, security, and regulatory needs into durable technical strategies. The role requires 8+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated progression to Staff/Senior Staff level, a proven track record defining and executing technical strategy for large-scale distributed systems, and the ability to lead architecture and delivery across multiple engineering teams.
