CesiumAstro is seeking a Principal RF Test Engineer II to join its engineering team in Westminster, Colorado. The company develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. The Skylark product line focuses on rapid design, build, and test of cutting-edge active phased array antennas (AESA) for terrestrial and airborne applications, spanning high-power ground terminals for missile defense to commercial airline and helicopter connectivity solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing engineering test plans and procedures for critical RF systems. You will architect RF test systems, develop test requirements, and map those requirements to reusable test architectures and procedures. Core responsibilities include collaborating with multi-disciplinary design and test engineering teams, implementing test plans, logging and presenting results to stakeholders, and managing lab equipment and guiding equipment purchase decisions. The ideal candidate combines strong hardware and software knowledge with proficiencies in RF measurements, test equipment (VSAs, VSGs, VNAs, etc.), test architectures, and automation. Experience with phased array testing is preferred. As a principal-level engineer, you will distinguish yourself through the ability to architect RF test systems, draw insightful conclusions from test results, and participate in design-for-test planning from early product development stages. You will present engineering design review materials to customers and the executive team, and participate in proposal-writing efforts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic startup environment where you will work autonomously while collaborating across the organization.
