Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. The company owns and operates each layer of the stack—from electrons to tokens—to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads, with a competitive advantage rooted in speed and the ability to rapidly design, manufacture, and deploy modular power and compute infrastructure.
You will join the R&D organization as a Technical Program Manager, driving programs that evaluate and advance next-generation AI data center technologies. Your role spans multiple engineering disciplines, from early-stage technology evaluations and partnerships with emerging startups through pilot-scale validation and production handoff for hyperscale deployment.
R&D at Crusoe exists to identify technologies and design approaches that will define future data center platforms, test them rigorously, and deliver validated solutions to engineering teams. As a TPM, you will be the operational backbone of this process—coordinating across R&D, engineering, external technology partners, and leadership to drive programs from concept through pilot to hyperscale readiness.
Key responsibilities include: owning and driving R&D programs end-to-end from early-stage technology evaluation through production handoff; serving as R&D's interface to engineering teams across the company, coordinating joint planning and shared initiative pipelines; coordinating operational aspects of technology evaluations including vendor engagements, test protocols, data collection, and structured decision frameworks; managing relationships with external technology vendors, startups, design firms, and development partners, owning scope, deliverables, schedules, contracts, and commercial terms; driving cross-functional alignment across R&D, engineering, operations, and leadership; maintaining program status visibility through regular reporting and proactive risk escalation; and ensuring R&D programs produce comprehensive technical documentation for engineering adoption and scaling.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of progressive experience in technical program management, project management, or systems engineering, with meaningful experience in data center infrastructure, manufacturing, or related industrial environments
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical foundation; started career as an engineer and transitioned into program management with genuine technical fluency
- Working familiarity with data center infrastructure (power distribution, cooling systems, facility design, compute/networking) and ability to engage credibly with engineers across these domains
- Demonstrated track record of delivering complex, cross-functional programs on time; comfortable managing ambiguity, competing priorities, and multiple concurrent workstreams
- Experience managing external vendors, contractors, or design partners including contract negotiation, scope management, and delivery accountability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical program details into clear executive summaries and facilitate productive discussions across diverse engineering disciplines
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Direct experience in data center construction, commissioning, or operations
- Background in manufacturing environments, particularly modular or containerized systems
- Experience with power systems, cooling technologies, or high-performance computing infrastructure
- PMP certification or equivalent program management credential
- Experience at a hyperscale cloud provider, major data center operator, or data center design/construction firm
- Prior experience in R&D, advanced engineering, or new product introduction (NPI) environment
