Join Nutanix's Product and Test Engineering team as a Senior Staff Manufacturing Test Development Engineer. This is a hands-on technical leadership role within Supply Chain Operations, based at the San Jose HQ with occasional on-site visits to manufacturing partners. You'll architect and lead the development of scalable automated test solutions for server and storage platforms, working directly with hardware, quality, and supply chain teams.
Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining robust test infrastructure for manufacturing environments, building automated functional test solutions capable of handling PXE boot ISOs, network provisioning (DHCP, VLANs), and multi-node validation. You'll architect database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) to collect and analyze product genealogy, test records, yield metrics, and failure telemetry across manufacturing partners.
You'll partner with vendors and equipment suppliers to procure and scale testing infrastructure, enforce software lifecycle management standards using Git/GitHub and Agile workflows, and leverage AI tools (GitHub Copilot, LLMs, predictive ML) to streamline test automation and failure analysis. Supporting product launches and factory operations, you'll drive test strategies, capacity analysis, and yield optimization with contract manufacturers.
As a technical authority, you'll mentor junior and mid-level engineers on coding best practices, hardware troubleshooting, and framework design. You'll manage Engineering Change Orders for firmware, software, and hardware, provide escalation-level triage for factory test issues, and lead cross-functional projects independently.
Required: BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 15+ years developing software solutions and automation for manufacturing production test integration. Strong experience with x86/AMD server and storage products. Expert-level proficiency in Python, C/C++, Perl, TCL, .NET, NI TestStand, JSON, React. Deep knowledge of Linux, Windows, networking (VLANs, DHCP), Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence). Proven track record leading cross-functional projects, driving technical alignment with internal and external partners, and coaching engineering peers. Experience with AI-assisted development tools, REST/SOAP APIs, and analytic platforms is valuable.
