CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Staff Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) Engineer with expertise in Electrical Ground Systems Test to join their satellite and aerospace communications team. This is a hands-on, senior technical role providing expert guidance and peer leadership in the lab, supporting AI&T operations for cutting-edge spacecraft and aerospace communication systems.
You will define requirements and designs for electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) used in satellite testing, working closely with Systems Engineering to establish test plans and maintain requirements verification matrices. You'll collaborate with Program Management to build AI&T schedules that feed into master schedules, and support on-orbit mission operations with insights gained from integration and test activities.
Key responsibilities include validating all electrical interfaces between test equipment and flight hardware, providing expert guidance and peer review for satellite assembly, integration, and test campaigns, and developing and executing acceptance/qualification testing activities (vibration, acoustic, shock, propulsion static fires, EMI/EMC, RF, self-compatibility, ground compatibility, day-in-the-life, and thermal vacuum testing). You will lead anomaly reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation, troubleshoot electrical issues during sub-system and component integration, and lead integration and test readiness reviews and post-operational briefings.
Additional duties include analyzing and presenting integration and test data to support verification activities, authoring test procedures, conducting test activities, supporting satellite AI&T and launch operations planning, working both independently and in teams, identifying and enforcing safety policies, and working onsite in the lab and cleanroom daily.
This role is critical to CesiumAstro's growth as they build a new business pipeline with internal investments and future contracts. You will be part of a dynamic, cross-functional environment emphasizing hands-on, interactive, and autonomous work.

- Experience in requirements management, system design, integration, and test
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python), with willingness to learn new ones
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status (required by U.S. Government Space Technology Export Regulations)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Test experience with RF communication systems
- Test experience with EMI/EMC compatibility and mitigation
- Experience using COSMOS and Grafana
