CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer – Software to serve as a critical bridge between Systems Engineering and Software Engineering teams. This role is responsible for translating system-level operational concepts, customer requirements, and architecture into detailed software requirements, verification strategies, and integrated technical solutions for complex embedded systems used in satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Decomposing system requirements into detailed, traceable, and testable software requirements
- Defining software verification approaches and strategies aligned with mission objectives
- Specifying required hardware/software configurations for system functionality
- Ensuring requirements are properly aligned to overall program objectives
- Working closely with the Software Engineering team on planning, development, integration, and verification activities
- Supporting the translation of customer needs into technical solutions for embedded systems
The position is organizationally aligned within the Systems Engineering function but operates as a hands-on, collaborative contributor working directly with software engineers. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives at the intersection of systems thinking and software implementation, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts across disciplines.
