CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer specializing in optical communications to join our engineering team in Westminster, Colorado. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize out-of-the-box communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. You will work on cutting-edge optical communication technologies that enable next-generation space infrastructure.
As a senior engineer, you will take ownership of complex spacecraft systems architecture, lead technical design reviews, and collaborate across cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and mission operations. Your expertise in optical communications systems, spacecraft integration, and systems engineering will be critical to advancing our product roadmap.
You will engage in hands-on technical work while also mentoring junior engineers and contributing to strategic technical decisions. The role offers the opportunity to work on autonomous, high-impact projects in a dynamic environment where innovation and technical excellence are valued.
