As a Senior Spacecraft Software Test Engineer, you will design, write, and debug comprehensive tests to ensure flight software operates correctly in orbit. Working closely with a fast-paced, agile software and GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) team, you'll develop and execute tests that validate software behavior in both simulation and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
Key responsibilities include:
• Develop detailed test plans for flight and ground software systems
• Implement flight software integration and regression tests using Python
• Debug and support flight software testing in C/C++
• Manage Docker container setup and software simulation environments
• Build and maintain hardware-in-the-loop test environments
• Integrate tests with hardware emulators for sensors and actuators
• Automate integration test execution as part of CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with GNC and operations teams to create realistic 'day in the life' test scenarios
You'll employ 'test like you fly' methodology to ensure software behaves exactly as it will in orbit, probing for off-nominal situations and thoroughly testing all integrated commands. This role requires strong embedded systems testing expertise, proficiency in Python and C/C++, and the ability to work in a dynamic aerospace environment where software reliability is mission-critical.
