Impulse is developing advanced liquid propulsion systems for high-performance spacecraft. As a Senior Fluid Systems Engineer, you will be a core member of the Propulsion Engineering organization, owning all aspects of propulsion system layout from concept through product realization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and layout complex, highly integrated fluid and mechanical systems for spacecraft propulsion
- Own component design end-to-end, from initial concept through manufacturing and assembly
- Generate detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings with GD&T compliance (ASME Y14.5)
- Perform fluid dynamics, thermal, and structural analysis as needed to validate designs
- Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers on material procurement, fabrication, and assembly
- Identify and resolve technical challenges with innovative, resourceful solutions
- Work within a fast-paced, agile engineering environment
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing complex, high-pressure, high-performance fluid and mechanical systems
- 5+ years of practical experience integrating fluid, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawing creation with GD&T standards
- Demonstrated track record in requirements definition, conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, and testing of hardware systems
