Cognite is a leader in industrial digitalization, building AI and data solutions that drive operational improvements for the world's largest process and energy companies. As a Senior Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in the Technology department within the Value Delivery organization, working directly with key customers, field sales, delivery teams, and product development.
You will be responsible for end-to-end architecture and solution design leadership, providing strategic and technical expertise to support customers and customer-facing project teams. Your core responsibilities include defining enterprise and solution architecture (including integration and data models, data ingestion pipelines, and user-facing solutions), expressing complex technical solutions through architecture modeling tools, and ensuring operational responsibility for delivered solutions.
You will build strong relationships with key stakeholders, C-level executives, and IT and Business Data Managers to drive long-term adoption of Cognite's products and services. You'll train internal teams and partners in your area of specialization and collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Product Management teams to translate customer needs into product offerings.
The role requires hands-on technical work: independently managing integration, data modeling, and related activities using Cognite data connectors and extractors, SQL, Python/Java, REST APIs, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud). You'll develop and maintain technical and business expertise for Cognite's products while being willing to travel as needed.
Required: 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer, or Machine Learning Engineer with a strong technical background and willingness to contribute code for advanced topics. Preferred experience includes domains such as Manufacturing, Energy, Oil & Gas, Pharma, or Life Sciences. You must be highly organized, thorough, communicate well with all stakeholders, take ownership of tasks independently, and be able to collaborate, lead, and coach others.
