Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Tactical Recon & Strike division, working on cutting-edge autonomous aerial systems including Ghost, Anvil, Bolt, and Altius drones. This role is central to transforming military capabilities through advanced AI, autonomy, and sensor fusion technology.
You will define systems engineering strategies and drive requirements, verification, and validation for core products. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing automated system-level integration tests across SITL (Software-In-The-Loop), HITL (Hardware-In-The-Loop), and hybrid testbeds coupled to simulation environments, followed by flight testing. You will develop testing strategies aligned with industry standards such as NATO UAV specifications and MIL-STD-882E safety standards.
The role demands autonomous execution on broad, ambiguous requirements from internal engineering teams, program offices, and corporate partners while managing multiple programs simultaneously. You will coordinate frequent test events ranging from in-lab full-software simulations to full hardware-in-the-loop demonstrations at test sites. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with safety-critical development standards, manage cross-team dependencies, support staffing and roadmap alignment, and collaborate with hardware, product, and test operations teams.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of programming experience in Python, C++, or Rust for analysis and simulation; a degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or related field; and demonstrated expertise in safety-critical software development standards and fault/hazard analysis. You must have proficiency in cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), experience writing testable system and software-level requirements, and strong capabilities in large-scale data modeling and visualization. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about building revolutionary defense technology.
