CesiumAstro develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. The Senior Software Project Engineer II will join the software team to help facilitate and improve the software development lifecycle execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining backlog health and prioritization
- Conducting software standups and team coordination
- Communicating project status to diverse stakeholders including customers, program managers, and cross-functional teams
- Collaborating with software engineers and program managers to plan and manage execution in a fast-paced aerospace engineering environment
- Supporting the design and development of complex firmware and software for state-of-the-art aerospace systems
The ideal candidate brings:
- Experience managing embedded system firmware development in high-reliability systems
- Familiarity with both agile and traditional design methodologies (agile, v-model flows)
- First-hand embedded system software development experience
- Ability to work in a dynamic, cross-functional startup environment
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
This is a hands-on role that combines project management with technical depth in aerospace software systems. The position requires U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status per ITAR regulations.
