You will lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and C++ as needed. Your responsibilities include defining and enforcing best practices for Windows development across the codebase—covering code architecture, performance, memory usage, responsive UI, cross-version compatibility (Windows 10/11+), and maintainability.
A key focus area is accessibility: you will integrate and validate support for Windows accessibility APIs (Microsoft UI Automation), ensure proper UI controls, focus management, keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, and usability for users with disabilities. You'll collaborate closely with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other stakeholders to shape feature planning, UI/UX architecture, and the long-term Windows platform roadmap.
You will own the full lifecycle of features—from conception through design, implementation, testing, release, and maintenance—ensuring quality, reliability, and consistency. You'll identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, rendering issues, and compatibility problems, proposing robust architectural solutions.
Required qualifications include 3+ years of Windows desktop application development with Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and XAML; deep understanding of Windows application architecture and interop between managed and native code; proven track record shipping production-quality desktop applications; strong experience with Windows accessibility APIs; excellent software engineering fundamentals (OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, multi-threading); experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, and conducting code reviews; strong communication skills; and a user-centric mindset.
Preferred experience includes automated UI testing, performance optimization for desktop apps, localization/globalization, telemetry and analytics, CI/CD workflows for desktop applications, and demonstrated ability to own feature areas long-term.
