Robinhood is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Wallet team in Toronto. The Wallet team's mission is to democratize access to financial services worldwide by leveraging DeFi protocols and Robinhood Chain, building secure, intuitive, and decentralized products that enable users to custody and manage digital assets.
In this role, you will design, build, test, and deploy scalable backend services that power Robinhood Wallet. You'll develop product-facing features and platform enhancements that meet strict correctness and scalability standards, working at the intersection of traditional finance and web3. You will take lead responsibility for designing scalable architectures, maintaining high-quality codebases, and identifying improvements to system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction.
You'll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, security engineers, client teams, and external node providers to deliver reliable technical solutions. A key part of this role involves mentoring other engineers and raising the technical standards of the team through design reviews, architecture discussions, and hands-on technical leadership.
The role requires 5+ years of software development experience with expertise in backend development using languages such as Go, Python, or Java, and deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures. You should have a strong grasp of system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals, with a proven ability to simplify complex problems and drive alignment across teams. This position is based in the Toronto office with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.
