Vanta is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to lead the technical foundation of Vanta for Government, a new product line serving federal agencies, government vendors, and State, Local, and Education (SLED) organizations. You'll design systems and architecture that power compliance automation across frameworks like FedRAMP, CMMC, and NIST. In this role, you'll lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders, designing systems that adapt Vanta's core compliance platform to meet government-specific demands. You'll lead the design and build of net-new product capabilities—including core compliance workflow features that don't yet exist in Vanta's product—working alongside early design partners to validate and iterate as requirements evolve. You'll partner with adjacent engineering teams on shared infrastructure and tagging systems that underpin government-specific compliance workflows, building on existing platform investments. You'll drive technical initiatives across engineering, product, and go-to-market, translating ambiguous early-stage requirements into durable, scalable solutions. You'll also contribute to building Vanta's engineering culture as the team grows. Successful candidates have 5+ years of industry experience with strong systems thinking and platform architecture skills. Experience in highly regulated industries (fintech, healthcare) is valued; FedRAMP or government domain experience is a plus but not required. You're comfortable in 0→1 environments where requirements evolve based on customer feedback, have a strong product mindset balancing technical rigor with delivery velocity, and are open to using AI to amplify your skills. Vanta is a Series D company founded in 2018, providing a Trust Management Platform that helps thousands of companies build, maintain, and demonstrate their security posture. The company offers competitive salary and equity, comprehensive benefits including 16 weeks paid parental leave, flexible PTO, and offices in SF, NYC, London, Dublin, Tel Aviv, and Sydney.
