Salary: USD 196,000 - 230,000 / annual
Airbnb's Dev AI team is building world-class developer infrastructure and AI tooling to enhance productivity across the entire software development lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to shape the technical direction of the team's infrastructure and products while working on exciting problem spaces including agentic coding tools, asynchronous AI workflow platforms, SDKs for rapid internal AI app development, and AI-assisted code migration.
You will help drive the AI for Developers strategy from ideation through shipping, bringing strong ownership and coding expertise across various technology stacks. The role involves making pragmatic architectural and technical decisions that balance ambition with real-world constraints and long-term operability. You'll stay current on the rapidly evolving AI tooling landscape and help the team balance innovation with measurable developer impact.
A key aspect of this position is serving as a champion, expert, coach, and consultant to empower teams and leaders across Airbnb to adopt and leverage new AI capabilities in their workflows. You'll champion engineering excellence through high-quality code, thoughtful design, and reliable systems, and participate in on-call rotations to drive operational excellence for the team's platform components.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of industry experience (or equivalent depth of expertise)
- Prior experience building developer infrastructure, tooling, or platforms, ideally at scale with tools, frameworks, or systems commonly used in the industry
- Hands-on experience applying AI technologies to real-world software development challenges
- Track record of quickly ramping up in new domains, technologies, or languages with genuine excitement for continuous learning
- Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in one or more of: Go, Python, TypeScript, or Kotlin
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree or equivalent experience
