The Tax Payments team is mission-critical, orchestrating $30B+ in annual tax remittance to 5,000+ tax agencies across 40+ countries. The team owns the end-to-end lifecycle of tax remittance: from salary payout calculations through agency payments and refunds. You'll work on intelligent systems that automate complex tax scenarios across different jurisdictions, currencies, and compliance frameworks while maintaining strict audit requirements and regulatory compliance.
As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you will design and build fault-tolerant, scalable payment pipelines that handle intricate financial workflows. You'll solve problems at the intersection of financial systems, international tax compliance, and large-scale automation. The role demands high reliability—every line of code directly impacts people's livelihoods and company compliance obligations.
Key responsibilities include designing robust tax remittance systems, building intelligent engines to optimize float and minimize manual intervention, architecting solutions that scale globally across multiple currencies and tax authorities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and audit readiness. You'll work with complex financial data, distributed systems, and international regulatory requirements.
