Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Air & Missile Defense Radar team. This role focuses on designing and implementing advanced tracking algorithms and high-performance software systems that detect, track, and characterize airborne threats in real-time.
You will design and implement sophisticated multi-target tracking algorithms, develop high-performance real-time software systems that process radar sensor data and maintain tracks on dozens to hundreds of simultaneous targets, and build modeling and simulation environments to validate tracking performance. You'll collaborate directly with radar engineers and system architects to integrate tracking solutions into end-to-end defense systems, optimize tracking software for performance-critical environments where milliseconds matter, and communicate technical concepts and trade-offs to cross-functional teams, program leadership, and customers.
The role also includes participation in customer demonstrations and field tests to ensure successful deployment and operational effectiveness. This is production-grade defense work—not research papers, but systems that government and industry customers depend on for mission-critical operations.
Required qualifications include 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field (or equivalent). You must have strong programming skills in C++ and Python, a solid foundation in mathematics (linear algebra, probability, statistics, differential equations), and understanding of software engineering fundamentals including design patterns, testing, version control, and debugging.
