The Sports Media Team builds platforms and products that collect, curate, distribute, analyze, and personalize sports data and content.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build, test, and deploy cloud-native solutions supporting billions of API calls per month and hundreds of millions of TV viewers. You'll work on an empowered cross-functional team with Product, Engineering, Design, and DevOps to deliver core mission objectives. Key responsibilities include:
• Design and build highly scalable, maintainable, and secure cloud-native systems
• Partner with architecture and external development teams to design aligned services with clear separation of concerns
• Advocate for and optimize applications for maximum speed, scale, security, and maintainability
• Participate in code reviews to ensure high quality standards
• Mentor less experienced engineers and foster a strong culture of collaboration
• Work with data-driven architecture supporting exclusive data rights from top leagues (MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR) and custom tooling for other sports
• Enable thousands of customers (Apple, Google, Amazon, Facebook, The Score, Bleacher Report) through Sports APIs
• Support broadcast solutions powering major networks (Fox Sports, Bally Sports, CBS Sports, NBC Sports)
The primary tech stack includes JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, AuroraDB, Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, EventBridge, AWS, Kubernetes, Lambdas, and GraphQL. Stack may vary by team or system.

This is a fully on-site role requiring five days per week in the Montevideo office to foster collaboration and innovation.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 6+ years of professional software development experience designing and building systems
• Experience with data-driven architecture and systems design (RESTful APIs, microservices architecture)
• Experience building scalable, maintainable, reliable production software
• Proficiency with SQL, NoSQL, and in-memory stores at scale
• Demonstrated understanding and implementation of SOLID design principles
• Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS)
• Experience with CI/CD models (GitLab/GitHub and CI pipeline automation tools)
• Proven success in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban)
BONUS:
• Strong understanding and implementation of cloud-native architectures (AWS serverless and/or containers) at scale in production
• GraphQL experience
