Robinhood is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Security Platform team, responsible for building foundational systems that securely manage and protect customer data across the platform. The role focuses on designing and building backend systems for secure data lifecycle management, including secure data pipelines, tokenization services, and privacy compliance infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build backend services and data pipelines that securely store, process, and route customer data
- Develop systems for token issuance, user authentication, and anonymization to support privacy requirements
- Define and execute authentication vision for next-generation AI platforms, intelligent agents, and MCP ecosystems
- Implement data retention and deletion workflows aligned with regulatory standards (CCPA, GDPR)
- Partner with access management engineers to enforce least-privilege access controls
- Contribute to monitoring and auditing systems that track data access and usage
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in backend systems, data infrastructure, or security
- Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, Go, or Java)
- Experience building and operating services in cloud environments (AWS, Kubernetes)
- Experience with distributed systems (PostgreSQL, Kafka, Spark, Snowflake)
- Understanding of data protection principles including encryption and privacy-focused system design
