Datadog's Security Libraries team owns customer-side integrations for runtime security products including App & API Protection, Workload Protection, and Code Security. The team maintains polyglot tracing libraries across .NET, Java, Go, Node.js, Python, Ruby, and PHP, built on a shared C++ core and HTTP proxy integrations (Envoy, NGINX, HAProxy). These libraries instrument thousands of production applications globally, enabling continuous real-time monitoring of vulnerabilities and threats.
You will design and build security integrations and detection features (WAF, RASP/exploit prevention, API Security, IAST, SCA) across multiple libraries, with .NET or Java as your primary focus. You'll take projects from prototype through production deployment, ensuring code safely instruments thousands of applications. Operationally, you'll monitor production telemetry, debug cross-system issues, and drive down customer-facing problems.
As a senior engineer, you'll shape the roadmap by defining OKRs for systems you own, breaking features into parallel-buildable components, and driving designs to alignment across security library teams. You'll partner with product management, backend, and frontend teams to translate product ideas into customer-adopted capabilities. You'll mentor teammates, raise code quality and testing standards, and represent Datadog in language and security communities.
You are an expert in .NET (C#) or Java with polyglot capability to contribute idiomatically across other libraries. You have strong software-engineering fundamentals, shipping modular, maintainable code with minimal guidance. You possess a product-engineering mindset, caring about user experience and product outcomes alongside technical excellence. You write clean, correct, well-tested, performant, idiomatic code for each language you use.
