You will join the Search Platform team as a Senior Software Engineer, responsible for designing and operating the cloud-based, scalable architecture powering NeuralSearch—Algolia's AI search engine combining keyword and vector search capabilities. This role focuses on distributed systems that orchestrate index building, storage, and querying of customer data at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the design and development of search and indexing infrastructure
- Operating the search platform with participation in on-call rotations
- Ensuring system quality and architectural soundness
- Sharing expertise on distributed systems challenges
- Collaborating with other teams to identify and resolve high-impact issues
You should have production experience designing and operating distributed systems, working with large datasets and high-traffic environments, and a commitment to code quality and engineering best practices. Experience with Go, Kubernetes, and Site Reliability Engineering is valued. The role requires excellent English communication skills and familiarity with high-growth company dynamics ($50-200M ARR stage).
The team is primarily remote with flexibility to work fully remote, hybrid, or office-based from Paris. Algolia emphasizes impact and output over physical location, operating a high-trust environment with global offices in Paris, NYC, London, Sydney, and Bucharest.
