You will join the Search Infrastructure team as a Senior Software Engineer, responsible for designing and operating the cloud-based scalable architecture powering NeuralSearch, Algolia's AI search engine that combines keyword and vector search capabilities. The team builds distributed systems that orchestrate index building, storage, and querying of customer data at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the design and development of Algolia's search infrastructure
- Operating search systems with participation in on-call rotation
- Ensuring system quality, soundness, and reliability
- Sharing expertise on distributed systems challenges
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve high-impact issues
- Working with a fully remote team with flexibility to be remote, hybrid, or office-based in Paris
You should have production experience designing and operating distributed systems, working with large datasets and high-traffic environments, and a commitment to code quality and engineering best practices. Experience with Go, Kubernetes, and Site Reliability Engineering is valued. The role suits engineers at growth-stage companies ($50-200M ARR) comfortable with rapid change and internal infrastructure building.
