Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the architecture, delivery, and operation of command-and-control software for real space missions. You will develop modular capabilities on the Anduril Lattice software platform to support DoD and IC customers across the space domain.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting Space C2 services and software solutions deployed to customers end-to-end, from API/proto design through production operation
- Designing, building, and operating backend services across the Space C2 stack using Go, gRPC, and Protobuf for command & telemetry, mission planning, ground-station management, space-to-ground protocol stacks, file transfer, and access control
- Writing and evolving protobuf API contracts, coordinating interface changes across teams
- Driving technical RFCs and architecture decisions for new subsystem capabilities
- Deploying and running services in secure government cloud on containers/Kubernetes, owning operational readiness, and leading on-call and incident response for live missions
- Integrating with spacecraft and ground infrastructure including software-defined radios, antenna pointing, ground-station providers, space-to-ground data links, and astrodynamics
- Building and running software-in-the-loop (SITL) simulation to validate end-to-end operations before live passes
- Integrating with legacy systems to unlock 21st-century capabilities
- Setting quality standards through rigorous code review and mentoring other engineers
- Collaborating across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality
- Creating and analyzing metrics for debugging and monitoring; triaging issues and coordinating resolution
- Partnering with end-users to translate needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years building backend and distributed systems, primarily in Go, Rust, or C++, with networked services using gRPC/Protobuf
- Proven experience architecting, shipping, and operating production services on containers/Kubernetes with real CI/CD and cloud deployment
- Experience integrating software with physical systems—hardware control, embedded interfaces, protocol implementation, or real-time data pipelines
- Track record of owning production services end-to-end and raising the engineering bar for others
- Ability to quickly understand complex systems and solve technical problems with minimal oversight
- Strong collaboration, code-review discipline, clear communication, and mentoring experience
- Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics preferred
- Desire to work on critical software with real-world impact
